Christmas Popcorn (or gooey popcorn…or marshmallow popcorn….)

I call this stuff Christmas Popcorn-- because that's when I eat it.  There's a lot of recipes similar to this one on Pinterest, but my friend, Heather, gave me this recipe so that's why I like it.  :)  She made it for a Christmas party a year ago, and I decided I'd wait to make it until (almost) Christmas time for fear that I would make it monthly.  Because it's addicting people!

I made a double batch, so if the pictures look like there's a crazy amount, you know why.  I would only suggest making this much if you need it for gift giving.  (And I took these pics with my phone, so sorry they're not too fantastic.)

Ingredients: (for 1 batch)

1 1/2 cups unpopped popcorn
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cube of butter
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
10 oz. bag marshmallows

Pop popcorn in air popper and place in large bowl, set aside.

In a saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over low/medium heat.

Once thoroughly melted, add half a can of sweetened condensed milk.  Melt together while stirring until ingredients are mixed well.

Add whole bag of marshmallows to pan and continuing melting ingredients together on low medium heat.  You don't need to get the pan to a rolling boil at all.  Once mine started to bubble and blurp just a tiny bit, I turned the heat down and kept stirring.

When everything is melted and stirred thoroughly, take off heat and pour over popcorn in the bowl.

Stir well to coat popcorn and then transfer to a large piece of wax paper to cool.  (Sorry, no pic because I had to work fast with all those popcorn bowls!)
Enjoy! And here’s how much a double batch makes just for fun:

Optional:  I love sweet-n-salty, so I sprinkled just a tiny bit of salt over the popcorn once it was all spread out on the wax paper.  Tasted like salted caramel popcorn—delish!
